and
WHEREAS The NJPTA continues to advocate for full funding of New Jersey’s public schools; and
WHEREAS The New Jersey Legislature continues to inadequately fund our schools; some schools are at less than 40%; and
WHEREAS The New Jersey Legislature shall find a method to fund public schools that is equitable and which attains at least 80% state funding; and THEREFORE be it
RESOLVED that NJPTA, its County Councils, and local PTAs advocate for adequate funding for public education; and be it further
RESOLVED that the NJPTA support adequate and full funding for New Jersey’s public schools through State Revenues and calls upon the legislature to relieve the unfair tax burden on taxpayers and dependents on local property tax; and be it further
RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be sent to the President of the Senate, the Speaker of the Assembly, and the Governor of the State of New Jersey.
