Whereas, the problem of drug abuse in the children and youth of New Jersey is a serious threat to those afflicted as well as their families, communities, and society, and
Whereas, the number of afflicted children and youth exceeds the number of beds available in the New Jersey for their treatment, and
Whereas, many New Jersey chemically dependent children and youth must now be sent out of state in order to receive treatment, and
Whereas, even those who are able to receive treatment have great difficulty obtaining aftercare support services, therefore be it
Resolved, that the New Jersey PTA work for the establishment of aftercare support programs and facilities to meet the needs and children and youth, and be if further
Resolved, that each Local PTA monitors assistance programs for students in their school districts.
